Yes. All of our doctors are certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. That means our doctors have specialized pediatric residency training and are reexamined regularly to retain their board certification.

Why does my child need to see a pediatrician?

It’s beneficial for your child to see a pediatrician because pediatricians receive specialized training to care for children and the medical conditions specific to childhood. We provide comprehensive care that focuses on total wellness for patients from birth until age 21. Our physicians also stay up-to-date with the latest expertise of the American Academy of Pediatrics, so you can be confident your child gets the best care possible.

When should my child stop seeing the pediatrician?

Our physicians are highly trained in the medical conditions of newborns, infants, toddlers, children, adolescents and young adults. So when your child reaches the age of 21, we will assist with making a smooth transition to a primary care provider who can best treat them as adults.

Will my child see her primary doctor at all visits?

You can always schedule appointments with your primary physicians. However, if your child is sick and needs to be seen quickly, sick visits are usually scheduled with the HealthPark physician who has the next available appointment time.

I am having a baby and would like to have one of your doctors as a pediatrician. Do I need to schedule a prenatal visit?

Prenatal visits are not required, but they are encouraged. Scheduling a visit before your baby is born is a great way to get to know our physicians and familiarize yourself with our office.

Do you have extended or weekend hours?

We know that daily life doesn’t just happen during regular business hours on weekdays. That’s why our office is open on weekdays from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm. The office is also open on Saturday & Sunday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Our patients also have access to an after-hours nurse triage line.

When should my child have her first dental exam?

According to the recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, your child should start seeing a dentist as soon as the first tooth comes in, or no later than his or her first birthday. Your pediatrician can offer recommendations for wonderful pediatric dentists in the Raleigh area if needed.
